The Canadian singer Justin Bieber was the target of a plan to castrate him and kill him during one of his concerts in New York, police said Thursday.
Dana Martin, 45, sentenced to life imprisonment for murder in New Mexico, admitted having prepared the plan with his former cellmate, Mark Staake, 41, and a nephew of the latter, Tanner Ruane, 23 years.
The plan fell apart with the arrest of Staake by a border guard of Vermont, in the northern United States.
Police in New Mexico, Martin admitted that his two accomplices should kill Justin Bieber and his bodyguards in mid-November, during the passage of the singer for New York, after the execution of the other two people in Vermont, which had no connection with the singer.

The court in Las Cruces, New Mexico, issued an arrest warrant against Ruane and Staake, who were arrested, told AFP Robert McDonald, a spokesman for the state police.
